Are you new to Ashtanga Yoga? Would you like to learn from scratch but can’t make the beginner’s course? Then this workshop is just for you!
A beginner’s workshop introducing the fundamental techniques, principles and postures of the ashtanga yoga system.
We will begin with a brief overview of what ashtanga yoga is, where it comes from, what differentiates it from other schools of yoga and how we should approach it.
We will explain the techniques and methodology of ashtanga yoga, and look at the sequencing of postures.
We will then learn and practise the beginning sets of postures, breaking the sequence down into easily manageable sections, with detailed explanation and instruction for each pose, including modified alternatives when needed.
You should enrol in this workshop if :
- You are a complete beginner who would like to give ashtanga a go.
- You’ve done some yoga before but it’s been a while..and you would like a ‘refresher’ class to get you started again
- You’re interested in mysore self practice but don’t know any of the ashtanga sequence
