I am excited to have Lesley Dow as a guest teacher for my Tuesday night half primary series class.
Many of you know Lesley as she taught for many years in Glasgow before emigrating to Australia 18 months ago. She is an experienced, caring and unique teacher who is hugely missed!!
She is here for 3 weeks only – come and join the fun!!
About Lesley
Lesley began her journey with yoga back in 2000 as an Iyengar student in Scotland. She experimented with different styles of yoga including Bikram, Hatha and Flow.
In 2003 she came across her first Ashtanga class and was instantly hooked. She found herself wanting to go deeper into the meaning and philosophy of this wonderful ancient tradition.
The spiritual side of the practise was a big pull to learn more. Lesley qualified as a Yoga teacher through Yoga Alliance in 2007 and immediately secured a position teaching dancers Ashtanga at a Fine Arts college in Glasgow.
The practise took her out to Mysore in India for the first time in 2008 and most years since then, studying under Sharat Jois. Lesley has studied and attended workshops with renowned teachers like David Swenson, John Scott and Kino Magregor.
She has also studied Transcendental Meditation in India since 2008 which she continues to practice. In 2011 Lesley lived and studied at the Yoga Vidya Gurukul Ashram in Nashik, India where she qualified with a diploma in yoga therapy.
The study of yoga therapy has helped her to understand the anatomy more and the intimate workings of the mind, body and spirit. This approach has helped her interact with her students in a much deeper and more holistic way and be more empathetic to each and every individual’s approach to their bodies and practise.
Lesley is driven to share her knowledge with students whilst making Ashtanga yoga a fun and accessible learning experience.
We are excited to have Lesley teaching at Ashtanga Yoga Glasgow in my absence, and hope you take advantage of having her here for a limited time.
