Traditional Thai Massage (Glasgow)
An ancient healing art which works on the concept of invisible energy lines running through the body. It is believed to have originated in India, and to have been introduced to Thailand at the same time as Buddhism over 2000 years ago.
Working on the energy lines by applying pressure using palms, thumbs, elbows and feet encourages the free flow of energy through the body, resulting in increased vitality and well- being.
A variety of applied yoga-style stretches are used to mobilise the joints and muscles and to increase flexibility. Some say it’s ‘like yoga done to you’ and is often called Thai Yoga Massage.
A Thai Massage treatment is performed on a mat on the floor, with the client fully clothed. A typical session will last two hours; a minimum of an hour and a half is recommended to fully feel the benefits. It is a wonderful treatment, both relaxing and invigorating, which will leave you feeling refreshed and energized, often for days afterwards.
Traditional Thai Massage can help relieve the symptoms of many illnesses and ailments. It is particularly effective for back, neck, and shoulder pain, sciatica, headaches and digestive disorders. It is also a powerful stress-reliever and fantastic for eliminating toxins.
All therapies are available at the Movement Studio in the West End of Glasgow.
