An introduction to the ancient healing system of India – Ayurveda.

Translated as ‘The science of Life’ Ayurveda works from the premise that we are all born with a specific constitution made up of a mixture of 3 ‘doshas’ – themselves formed from the 5 elements  : Vata ( air and space), Pitta(fire and water) and Kapha (earth and water) . We have all three doshas within us but in varying degrees. Most of us are dominant in one or two – and the doshas determine our natural characteristics, physical and emotional .

Depending on your dosha you will have different needs when it comes to keeping healthy  – for example someone who is predominanly Vata will benefit from a different diet from someone who is predominantly Pitta, or Kapha.

This workshop will introduce you to the basic principles behind Ayurveda. You will find out what dosha you are and what changes you can make to keep yourself in balance to maximise health and energy levels!
